nwktumblr is skeptical. perhaps so we can sleep at night. any scientists/doctors in the house?
This is real - it’s actually a very good way to identify the age of the subject at time of death, and is used quite often in anthropology to identify the age of homonid ancestor skulls like Selam (Australopithicus Afarensis) and the Taung child skull (Australopithicus Africanus).
Here’s a chart showing approximate age of eruption for Homo Sapiens Sapiens (us)
Using that chart, the above skull is likely of an individual who died between the ages of 7-9 years of age (approximate)

Senator Clinton has done an extraordinary job — but she works for me. I’m the President, and I’m always responsible. And that’s why nobody’s more interested in finding out exactly what happened than I am.
The day after the attack, governor, I stood in the Rose Garden and I told the American people and the world that we are gonna find out exactly what happened; that this was an act of terror; and I also said that we’re gonna hunt down those who committed this crime. And then a few days later, I was there greeting the caskets coming into Andrews Air Force Base, and grieving with the families.
And the suggestion that anybody on my team — the Secretary of State, the U.N. Ambassador — would play politics or mislead when we lost four of our own, governor, is offensive. That’s not what we do. That’s not what I do as President; that’s not what I do as Commander-in-Chief.

geekgirl101 asked: As someone from eastern europe, can I ask what you experienced when you said it was antisemitic?
Certainly. I have travelled throughout Eastern Europe extensively, so I am relatively used to getting dirty looks and bad service once someone sees my name (a Ukranian Jewish family name).
I was simply in a cab, and had negotiated a lower rate with the driver at the beginning in Russian (I do not speak Ukrainian). When we arrived, he demanded double. When I refused to pay double and reminded him of our agreement, he launched into an tirade of profanity and racial slurs, teling me that my family should be able to afford it with the money we’ve stolen from good Christian families. I left him with the agreed amount, got out of the cab, and he sped off, yelling “cheap Jew” out the window.
haitianlovesongs asked: hopefully you won't be creeped out by this, but I found your tumblr through Google while searching for info about my upcoming stay in Vladimir with CLS. your blog has made me even more excited for my trip! i have a frank question, also: what do you think I can expect to experience in Vlad as an African-American? I spent a month in Moscow last summer and it was fine apart from a few incidents. not quite sure what to anticipate from a provincial city. thanks for any advice!
Hi! Thanks for reaching out! Congratulations on getting a CLS! I realize this is likely a very late response, my tumblr hasn’t been showing me messages…
I would be super interested in how your trip has been going, if you feel like sharing! As far as what to expect, I only met two black people in Vladimir - one young girl who had grown up there and spoke amazing Russian and a German tourist who was drunk and loud the entire time I was around him. Amazingly, though people in Vlad at times could be intolerant, that intolerance stemmed from misconceptions that had made their way over from Europe and the US through media and such. In the case of the young girl, she was almost universally welcomed, mainly because she respected Russian customs and language (much like all of us on CLS), whereas the German was treated rather badly, but mainly because he was groping passersby.
There is a lot of “growing up” for Russia to do, especially with regards to race and religion. I hope your trip has been great. I missed the orientation in DC by a day, otherwise we would’ve likely met in person!
Slurs slurs slurs. Nothing new, just a strange juxtaposition after coming from Berlin.
